Are you cut out to be an entrepreneur?
Have you ever sat in your cubicle, and thought about cutting loose from your dead end job? Have you ever dreamed about owning your own business? Have you ever wished your boss would find a strategically placed knife in his back?
Most of us have had these inclinations, but unfortunately, (and fortunately for your boss) the tasks seems daunting, so we sigh deeply, shift into automatic, and go about living life without joy.
Yuck! How depressing.
There have been many studies done on the wealthy and very wealthy people of this world. The one thing they all have in common: none of them are employees. Even very well paid employees will always have a ceiling where they stop making money.
But as exhilarating as it is to be your own boss, it does take a certain type of person to make a successful go of being a business owner.
If you think you posses these qualities, there may be hope for you yet:
confident in your ability - even though you don't quite know how, you are confident you have what it takes to make it work
creative thinker - pretend the word can't had never been invented
particular skill set - if you don't know how, find out - or find a person that does
persistent - like white on rice
passionate - living with passion is where the fun is
connected - with great relationships, whatever you are selling comes naturally
have a vision - be clear in what you want - journal it!
can follow through - make it easy for your prospects to do business with you
courageous - step waaaaaaaay out - that is where the memories are
have a goal - pick an objective - then take deliberate steps to get there
If you said yes to 6 out of 10 of these traits, you may have what it takes.
Sometimes, the best thing that can happen to you is that your boss lays you off. After the stabbing pain in your gut subsides, look around you. You are now free to pursue your wildest notions! Dream, and reflect on what will make you deliriously happy. You will know you found it when your are excited to get out of bed.
Do you have a hobby that you love? With some creative thought, can it earn you money?
Is there something that you always wanted to try, but never took the opportunity?
Have you ever had an idea that solves a NEED, but the thought never left your head?
It ain't easy. But it IS wonderful. It is so wonderful, that it is worth it for you to at least investigate what turns your crank. Find out what makes you wildly excited, then find a way for this to make you money.
